The investigation in the case of Elgun Abdullayev has been concluded
Elgun Abdullayev, head of the Architecture and Construction Department of the Lankaran District Executive Authority, will be brought before the court in the near future. The investigation into the case of Abdullayev, who was detained on October 4 during the operation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Department in the Lankaran City Executive Authority, has been concluded. Meydan TV was informed about this by the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
Elgun Abdullayev was charged with articles 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 of the Criminal Code (repeated bribery), which provide up to 12 years of imprisonment.
In the materials of the criminal case, it is claimed that the former head of the department asked for a bribe of 100,000 AZN and received 33,500 AZN for the preparation of documents on a private residential house and non-residential area in Lankaran.
His case will be heard in Lankaran Serious Crimes Court.
As a result of the operation held in October 2022, along with Elgun Abdullayev, the chief architect of Lankaran, Nasreddin Nuriyev, the head of the department of the Inter-Regional Psychiatric Hospital, was also detained. The investigation in his case was concluded at the end of December, and the case materials were sent to the court for consideration. Nasreddin Nuriyev’s case is also being considered in Lankaran Serious Crimes Court.
At that time, Elgun Abdullayev was placed under arrest, and Nasreddin Nuriyev was ordered to remain under house arrest during the investigation period.
