The Baku Court of Appeal started reviewing the case of Leyla And Arif Yunus on October 15.
“I have cirrhosis. On August 14, a German doctor examined me and concluded that I needed hospital treatment for two months. However, after 6 days of treatment, I was discharged from the medical facility. There were two sadistic doctors,” frail-looking Leyla Yunus said at the Court of Appeal hearing on October 15.
Despite her objections, Yunus was forced into a glass-walled cage with no microphone. Yunus could not hear what was going on in the courtroom because the microphone was turned off. Musavat Party leader Arif Hajili was escorted out of the courtroom for asking to turn on Yunus’s microphone
Lawyer Elchin Sadiqov requested time to familiarize himself with the initial documents. His request was granted. The hearing was postponed till October 20 so that Elchin Sadiqov can review the documents.
