Formula 1 Preparations

This latest caricature from Gunduz Aghayev brings to light the paradoxical nature of the preparations for the F1 races in Baku. While large sums of money have been poured into the area immediately surrounding the F1 racing track, streets just outside of the track have been left – as previously – in decline and disrepair. The ribbon on the left side of the apartment building reads, “citizens”, while the writing on the facade to the right reads, “for tourists.”
