Vafa Mammadova, the spouse of the imprisoned chairman of the ReAL movement Ilgar Mammadov, addressed the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 27.
In her speech, she spoke about the illegal arrest of her husband, the failure of the Azerbaijani authorities to comply with the European Court of Human Rights’ decision calling for his immediate release and asked parliamentarians to take steps towards securing his freedom.
She later spoke to Meydan TV and answered several questions about Mammadov’s imprisonment and hopes for the future.
