The Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security laid off 250 staff due to their reported shortcomings and work-related errors,

reported citing the Acting Minister of National Security Madat Guliyev.
Guliyev also added that the ministry had not hired replacements for the dismissed employees yet, and more layoffs were expected. “We believe that the personnel of the Ministry of National Security should be not large in number, but mobile and efficient,” he said.
He also said a criminal case was launched by the Prosecutor General’s Office as part of the investigation related to the National Security Ministry.
“People involved in the criminal case are brought to justice, and every person who has committed a crime will be held legally responsible,” he said.
