Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not attend the Eastern Partnership Summit of the European Union in Riga scheduled for May 21-22,

quoted his Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov as saying.
Hasanov noted that Aliyev has an extremely busy schedule preparing for the inaugural European Games as preparations for the June 12-28 event have entered the final stage. “That’s why the head of state will not be able to attend the Summit,” he said.
Hasanov also said Azerbaijan would be represented at the Riga Summit by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Chief of the Administration’s Foreign Relations Department Novruz Mammadov and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
