On October 15, the well-known Armenian human rights defender Georgi Vanyan, who dedicated his life to building peace between Azerbaijanis and Armenians, passed away.

He was 58 and died of COVID complications in a clinic in Tbilisi.

“He was always looking for ways of bringing people together to cooperate with each other,” said his friend, the well-known Azerbaijani political scientist Zardusht Alizadeh, in an interview with Meydan TV. “He wanted to eliminate the animosity between them.” Our video tells the story of Georgi Vanyan’s life, his attempts to bring two nations together to build peace, and the obstacles and difficulties that he faced.
