Veli Alasgarov, former Minister of National Security of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, was arrested a few weeks ago,
Turan
reported on March 25 citing Azadlig.
Alasgarov is accused of embezzlement that allegedly took place during renovation works at the Ministry of National Security building in Nakhchivan. However, according to

Mahmudov
was dismissed on October 17, 2015. Some of Mahmudov’s managerial staff were arrested, and over 250 employees lost their jobs. The ministry was disbanded, and a criminal case was filed against it. The sculpture of Mahmudov’s late father was taken down in Nakhchivan. A number of Mahmeudov’s former aides were also arrested.
A villa built in Nakhchivan by Alasgarov for Mahmudov was reportedly
demolished
.
