On December 2 in the ASMER creative HUB, the unveiling of an analytic and visual project of conceptual artist Chingiz Babyev will take place.
The artist described his concept as such:
“Art is not in a position to change the world, but it can study social, political and other problems and, in doing so, bring up a number of questions for discussion. The modern artist works in an analytical and philosophical format. In this way, he reflects upon his subject matter and the essence of the times in art by using visual and non-visual messages and cues.
In my works, which contradict one another, my view on real life and ‘official’ information spread via the mass media prompt me to react to this. This is a measurement point and a source of inspiration, which shapes my projects.”
The images created for the CLOUD DREAMS project are comprised of several visual stories and are printed on various materials, created using various techniques. These visual stories are visual formulae which reflect the direct connection between humanity and modern social and political problems.
This project was created as part of the Regional Art and Culture Project in the South Caucasus, which is administered by the Culture and Management Lab with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in the South Caucasus.
The event will take place on December 2 at 19:00 in the ASMER creative HUB.
