Azerbaijani authorities are expecting the inflation rates to reach 10-12% in 2016, the country’s Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said in an interview on January 25, according to ANS PRESS.
Sharifov cited various forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development, including the national currency manat devaluation.
Although independent sources suggest higher rates, according to official data, the inflation rate in Azerbaijan in 2015 was at 4%, in 2013 at 2.4%, in 2012 at 1.1%, in 2011 at 7.9% and in 2010 at 5.7%.
İn the past year manat has devaluated twice, in February 2015 and December 2015.
