According to APA on January 23 Azerbaijani army Capt. Elnur Jafarov, 36, was killed by a sniper bullet when Armenian side broke the ceasefire in Tartar region. He was a resident of Sharur region, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Following the incident, the minister of defense Col. Gen. Zakir Hasanov signed the order to award Jafarov with third class medal “For Distinguished Military Service” posthumous.
