Two Arrested for Writing “No to Dictatorship!” on Statue of Heydar Aliyev in Ganja

Those arrested are suspected of having written the slogan on a statue to Heydar Aliyev in a Ganja park.

Tapdiq Mammadov and Elmir Tahmin were arrested in the evening hours of November 5th in Ganja. They are currently being held in the Kapaz district police station temporary detention facility. They have been sentenced to 30 days in prison.

The reason for their arrest is linked to the fact that they wrote “No to Dictatorship!” on a statue to Heydar Aliyev in a park in Ganja.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs gave no comment in relation to their arrest.
