“Participants and fans of the IV Games of Islamic Solidarity, as well as other accredited persons will be able to enter Azerbaijan without visas”, said the spokesman of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev on April 20.
He said that in connection with the IV Games of Islamic Solidarity, a simplified visa regime is planned.
Hikmet Hajiyev also noted that more than 1,000 journalists have been accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cover the Islamic Solidarity Games. According to him, about 200 journalists represent Arab countries.
About 5000 athletes from 57 Muslim countries are expected to attend the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in May. Athletes will compete for 270 medals in 20 sports. The competitions, which will be held from May 12-22, will be held in 16 modern sports venues, including the Olympic Stadium in Baku.
A budget of $100 million has been provided for the Islamic Solidarity Games from the state budget.
