First Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafet Asgarov does not expect positive results from the upcoming visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the region.
He
stated
this to journalists on June 14 in Baku.
The Vice-Speaker noted that if Azerbaijan and Armenia could agree among themselves, then there would be no need for the Minsk Group.
“The co-chairs should call Armenia an occupier and demand the release of the occupied lands, if they do not demand it, I do not expect anything from them,” Askerov said.
Askerov said that every time there has been a visit by the co-chairs of the region, the Armenian side has violated the cease-fire regime every time and committed provocations.
“This is known to us and the co-chairmen, but why do the co-chairs not respond to these provocations?”, he said.
The mediators of the OSCE Minsk Group from Russia, France and the United States are on a visit to the region this week.
