The Tax Ministry informed Radio Azadliq that on October 25, company “Silk Way East Airlines” was officially registered.
50,000 manat were deposited as the company’s first capital. The president of the company is Senan Akhundov.
This is the third cargo company to be created in Azerbaijan.
In 2012, holding group “Silk Way Airlines” created “Silk Way West Airlines.” Since then, it has delivered in between 80,000 – 127,000 tons of cargo abroad.
Silk Way Airlines is in turn held 60 percent by SW Holding, and 40 percent by “International Handling Company Limited”, which is registered on the British Virgin Islands. According to official documents, SW Holding is presided over by Zaur Akhundov. The name of the owner of the British company has not been learned.
