Without providing any justification and a lawyer or without letting him inform his relatives about the detention, the police accused Hajili of disobeying the police, and was sentenced to 20 days of administrative detention.

Hajili represents Musavat on the board of Shirvan city.

Musavat viewed Hajili’s arrest as the start of a campaign of repression by the authorities on the eve of the parliamentary elections, scheduled for early November. Musavat demanded that the authorities put an end to the campaign of pressure and harassment against the opposition, and release  Hajili and all political  prisoners.
