Turan News Agency

reports.

On February 22 Gunel Hasanli was sentenced to 1.5 years in penal settlement in accusation of hitting with a car 87-year-old Adela Salimova. In April, the Baku Court of Appeal refused to examine the complaint filed by Gunel’s lawyer. The defense filed an appeal to the Supreme Court, which was also rejected. On 11 September the Baku Court of Appeal began the consideration of the appeal.

Gunel’s lawyer Adil Ismaylov presented an X-ray  of Salimova testifying that she had her leg broken in 2007, several years before the accident. The defense wanted the document to be admitted to the case file.

Today on September 14, the prosecutor asked the court not to consider this x-ray. According to the prosecutor,  it is not necessary to take into account the trauma received back in 2007.

“Gunel Hasanli did not cause me any damage. She even took me to the hospital. The doctors said that there were no injuries. I suffer from salt retention in my feet. Gunel bought me drugs. And today, despite my age of 87-years I could come to the court by myself,”  she said. However, the court rejected the petition.  The next meeting is scheduled for 23  September.
