Today, co-rapporteurs from the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe visited political prisoner and leader of REAL Movement, Ilqar Mammadov, in prison, reports Turan News Agency.
Mammadov is reportedly unsatisfied with the activities of the reporters in relation to political prisoners in Azerbaijan, but he wishes them success.
He also mentioned that the approach being taken by the Romanian parliament member, Preda, is highly questionable. In particular, he noted that efforts to free youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Qiyas Ibrahimov – arrested for painting graffiti on a statue of Heydar Aliyev – should be made by those who erected a similar monument in Romania.
