Background
Meydan TV, an independent Azerbaijani media outlet, is looking for a Volunteer English proofreader/copy editor (freelancer) for its English site. The Proofreader will work on an international online media platform that produces a range of content including video reports, investigations, interviews, news features, analytical opinion articles, and infographics about the South Caucasus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Proofread/copy-edit daily news briefs and feature article; make sure that the content is ready for publication in English
• Assist with drafting news briefs
Essential Criteria
• A undergraduate or graduate student majoring in English, journalism, Russia/Caucasus studies or any related field with an interest in the South Caucasus
• Native fluency in English
• Ability to work quickly and independently under deadline pressure; flexible schedule
• Sympathy with Meydan TV’s organizational values of objectivity and editorial independence.
